Between that cool documentary-style thing, the gospel choir and the ever-awesome Ellen, I thought this year's opening was great. What did you think?

I liked the documentary-type thing they did at the beginning but honestly I don't think Ellen is that funny. I know I'm probably in the minority here. I have a feeling tonight's show will be a snoozefest. They need to get Jimmy Kimmel to host next year!
1I liked how the intro montage honored all the nominees and their contributions to movie-making.
2I don't know, I was laughing out loud the entire time!
3I understand that she's all butch- but come on she could've dressed up, picked something other than a velour suit-- comeon Ellen. But the actual opening- very funny and enjoyable.

4It was amazing that documentary with the opinion of almost all the nominees!
5The documentary was great. Ellen was okay, but I wondered if she was ever going to get to the awards.
6Ellen is annoying.
7I love Ellen! She's so naturally funny, and I was laughing for the entire first part of the show...
but, I'd have to agree with everyone else...
what happened to the rest of it? It's like the show started off with a bang and then began to drag on... and on... and on... and we never saw Ellen...
What happened???
